Being Consistent
Sep 05, 2022After years of being an entrepreneur, I've learned that consistency really is key! The biggest thing that brought me to success was being consistent with everything–meaning dedicating myself and staying focused on my goals. It's a skill that most learn over time, but once you have it, it can change your whole life. The bottom line is: consistency can make the difference between failure and success.
Luckily, mastering consistency isn't as tough as it seems! All you need is a plan and a lot of practice–you got this!
First, create specific and realistic goals. It’s hard to be consistent if you don’t have a strong idea of what you need to do. When starting your new path, create easy, simple goals with specific results that you can see!
Really think about it– what do you want to be consistent with? Do you need to be consistent about your exercise habits? Do you want a higher quality of work? Do you want to build your relationships to be better?
Knowing what you want to focus on can be half the battle! Once you have that done, come up with smaller steps to reach it. For example, if you want to become more physically fit, you might set the goal to exercise for 3 days per week or sign up for a class!
Remember, start slow! You can't set high goals immediately; it isn't sustainable. Baby steps work best!
One of the biggest things I've learned while practicing consistency is the importance of a schedule. It can be easy to pile on tasks and promises, but a calendar, planner, or schedule will keep you on track. A schedule will help you plan your day so that you get everything done on time. It will also help you understand what commitments you do and don't have time for! Overall, a schedule is a huge life hack!
Keep in mind that consistency is gradual and takes time–don't beat yourself up for not making huge changes right away. Baby steps always and you'll see change sooner than you think. You got this!
